Active Volunteer Program

IDEA’s Active Volunteer Program offers the chance to gain experience, connections, and mentorship in the infill community. IDEA has been built on the passion of its volunteers but the Active Volunteer Program adds a formal agreement to this dynamic and sweetens the deal with free membership (and other perks) in exchange for a set time commitment.

  • What Does IDEA Ask for in Exchange?

    • A 3 -6 hour per month time commitment

  • What Roles Are Available?

    • Infill Policy Analyst: The individual in this role helps craft IDEA’s actions on established and forthcoming policies that affect infill development throughout Edmonton.

    • Social Media Coordinator, LinkedIn: IDEA’s product is its message. The individual in this role helps research valuable content and project this message in one of our many communication channels, LinkedIn.

    • Social Media Coordinator, Twitter: Similar to the role above, the individual in this role helps research valuable content and project IDEA’s message on our Twitter account. It’s a great opportunity to gain experience on specific infill projects and topics that affect our industry.

  • Who do Active Volunteers Get to Work With?

    • For the background work associated with each available role, Active Volunteers will work with IDEA’s diverse membership, including infill builders and professionals in various facets of the development industry. The projects come fast and furious so these interactions are different every time.

    • For producing deliverables like social media posts or policy assessments for the City of Edmonton the Active Volunteers will work with (1) a dedicated mentor and (2) IDEA’s Executive Director.
