Driving Development : The Role of Bus Rapid Transit on the Road to 1.25 Million

Join us on April 10 at noon for IDEA’s free members only webinar, as representatives from the mobility team give a presentation on Bus Rapid Transit and its role in future development. 

BRT is a new tool in Edmonton's transit "toolbox" that can be leveraged to provide mass transit access to more areas of the City and create new transit connections with expected development. In this presentation, the City of Edmonton will provide an overview of the BRT routes currently under consideration: Castle Downs to Century Park via Downtown; West Edmonton Mall to Bonnie Doon via Whyte Avenue; and Ambleside to University of Alberta via South Campus. Topics such as aligning land use goals with corridor selection and transit Lane configurations will be explored and there will be opportunities to hear industry insights on how BRT can contribute to Edmonton's redevelopment goals as the City prepares to begin concept design later in 2024
